The South East Melbourne Phoenix’s strong start to free agency looks set to continue, following reports from ESPN’s Olgun Uluc that the club has agreed to a three-year deal with two-time NBL champion center Jordan Hunter.
The Phoenix have already confirmed the addition of Hunter’s former Sydney teammate Angus Glover and multiple All-NBL nominee Nathan Sobey ahead of the NBL25 season.
Uluc has reported Hunter’s contract will contain an Asia opt-out in each year of the deal, and that there is currently strong interest in the 27-year-old’s services from the Japanese B. League.
Hunter has represented the Kings 127 times following his debut for the club in 2019, and in addition to winning the NBL22 and NBL23 titles, he finished as runner-up in the NBL21 Most Improved Player race to current Illawarra center Sam Froling.
